Unravelling my Ancestry: The Technicalities and Insights of iGENEA DNA Test Focused on Clauss Surname
Family name Clauss
Recently, I decided to explore my lineage deeper and took up an iGENEA DNA test. The results, focusing particularly on my surname 'Clauss', have been insightful and layered, opening new dimensions in understanding my ancestry through this efficient genetic test.
When I decided to embark on a quest to further unravel the mysteries of my ancestry, I chose iGENEA DNA tests, a decision I did not regret. iGENEA made use of advanced Autosomal DNA (atDNA) testing, an efficient and accurate method of genetic testing which gave me precise information about both sides of my family.
Autosomal DNA testing looks at the 22 pairs of non-sex chromosomes to provide a broad and rich picture of one's ancestry, dating back about five generations or more depending upon the degree of endogamy within the tested individual's gene pool. Compared to mtDNA and Y-DNA tests which only provide insights into either just the maternal or paternal lineage, atDNA provides a comprehensive view of both lineages.
The accuracy of these tests is extraordinarily high. The raw data output from the genotyping chip was analyzed using a complex algorithm that calculates the percentage probability of my ancestry from multiple world regions. Furthermore, the results were double-checked and corrected for statistical noise to guarantee accuracy.
What I found particularly fascinating about my results was how it shed light on the origin and history of my surname - Clauss. Previously, I knew Clauss was a German surname, however, the iGENEA DNA test introduced me to a larger dimension.
The test showed a large percentage of my genes shared with people in central-western Europe, primarily in the region that is now Germany. This indicates that my Clauss ancestors likely originated from this area. It also demonstrated several matches with people possessing the same surname, a strong hint about possible relatives.
Additionally, delving into the genetic communities linked to my DNA brought forth more insights. It suggested my Clauss ancestors possibly belonged to the Ashkenazi Jewish community that settled in Germany many centuries ago. This is exciting as it hints towards a fascinating cultural and ethnic mix in my ancestry.
The iGENEA DNA test has indeed deepened my understanding of the Clauss surname and broadened my perception of my ancestry. It was an enlightening experience that has stirred my curiosity and pushed me to dig deeper into historical records. I am excited for what further exploration might reveal.
